A senior lecturer in the department of Banking and Finance, Dr. Stanley Edobor has called on relevant authorities to give a sense of belongings to the physically challenged persons in the choice of locations for citing Automated Teller Machine (ATM) across the country.
He made the call while presenting the 3rd Inaugural Lecture of Edo State Polytechnic, Usen. The lecture was themed, “Automated Teller machine (ATM) Innovation in Solving today’s Challenges: A Plus in Paradigm Shift for the Good of the Society.” He also observed that ATMS are placed without given consideration to the challenges that physically challenged persons have to contend with in making use of its services.
He however noted that ATM has revolutionalised the operations of the banking industry to make it easier for customers to do banking businesses.
In his remark, the Rector of the Polytechnic, Professor Abiodun Falodun lauded Dr.Edobor for his thoroughness in the presentation and describing the lecture as meeting international standard. He thanked the state Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki for creating the enabling environment for the school to thrive in academic excellence.He used the occasion to inform that the school’s management has been working tirelessly in line with the mandate of governor.He listed the achievements of his administration to include the remodeling of the polytechnic main gate to enhance beautification of the school environment.
According to him, the management has also approved the partnership of Edo Poly and the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON) which cumulated in the commencement of ND programme in Safety Management and Industrial Engineering. He further revealed that the polytechnic currently runs 29 programmes,18 of which are fully accredited, five awaiting accreditation while six are scheduled for accreditation by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) later this year.
