Mass Comm Produces Best Graduating Student

Miss Okpetu Flourence Oluwatosin of Mass Communication Department has won the prize for the overall best graduating ND student of Edo State Polytechnic, Usen for the 2019/2020 academic year with a CGP of 3.87.

At the 3rd and 4th convocation ceremony of the polytechnic, she was also awarded the prize for the overall best graduating students in Mass Communication Department.

The award was presented  to her by the wife of the Governor of Edo State, Her Excellency, Mrs Betsy Obaseki, at the ceremony where the state Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, with his wife, Maryann was in attendance.

The Rector of the polytechnic, Prof. Abiodun Falodun, Commissioner for Education, Dr. Joan Oviawe, former Governor of the State, Dr Lucky Nosakhare Igbinedion, lecturers, including the Head of Mass Communication Department, Helen Ugbogbo and other guests and fellow students applauded Miss Okpetu and other award recipients for thier remarkable performances.

In a chat with newsmen, Miss Okpetu noted that she was inspired to target the feat because she has all it takes to be the best.

According to her, the word ‘impossibility’ does not exist in her dictionary. “You must be the change you wish to see in the world,” she said.

She said that she had always wanted to prove to the world that record making is not limited to the male gender.
