Real Madrid and French international, Karim Benzema continued his potency in front of goal, after scoring a hat-trick in Real Madrid’s 3-1 win against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in Wednesday’s Champions League first leg quarter-final tie.
Benzema has now joined former Madrid player, Cristiano Ronaldo, as the only two players to score back-to-back hat-tricks in the knockout stages of the Champions League.
Ronaldo’s feat came in 2017 when he scored three goals against Bayern in the Champions League quarter-final second leg, before doing same against Atletico Madrid in the first leg semi-final.
Benzema is the current LaLiga top scorers chat with 24 goals, 11 assists in 26 league games.
In the ongoing Champions League, the 34-year-old world cup winner has scored 11 goals in eight games played.
