Edo Poly Lecturers Must Be ICTs Compliance – Prof Abiodun Falodun

The rector of Edo State Polytechnic Usen, Prof Abiodun Falodun said his management’s team will continue to put the necessary measures in place to ensure that all academic staff of the Polytechnic are ICTs compliance in order to facilitate quality learning in the Polytechnic. Prof Abiodun Falodun made this submission during his opening remark at A 3-Day Capacity Building Training Programme for fifty Academic Staff of the Polytechnic on pedagogy.

According to Prof Abiodun, the purpose of the workshop training is to equip the Academic Staff towards the delivering of quality lectures/teachings to the students in the classroom as mandated by the state government in on-going education reforms in the state.

Prof Abiodun said, “His Excellency Governor Godwin Obaseki has given us the mandate in Edo State to equip the lecturers with the necessary facilities/training needed to impact the students and we cannot but carry out the mandate”

Falodun added that the necessary infrastructure backed with proper training will be made available by the management to promote effective teaching, learning and to produce digitally oriented and market ready graduates. He urged participants to embrace his management’s innovative for excellences.    

He noted, “the world is changing and no one can tell what tomorrow will be therefore, I bid everyone to diligently absorb the quality of this training”

The Rector commended the Director Centre for Excellence in Teaching dnd Learning, Dr Kess Asikhia for his great idea and for organising this year’s faculty workshop.

The chief facilitator of the faculty workshop, Prof Babarinde Sikiru Adekola, from the University of Ibadan in his lectures focused on the foundational pedagogy tools for engaging students in the class room. He admonished participants at the training to invest in themselves as self-investment is one of the criterial to attain the greatest peak of one’s carrier.

Participants at the workshop including the Head of Department of Mechanical Engineering Engr Osite Lucky Michael and Engr Amayanvbo, Head of Department of Electrical Engineering described the training as impactful, stressing that they have been equipped with knowledge in pedagogy and the usage of computer to facilitate impartation of quality knowledge. They appreciate the management of the Polytechnic for organising such a wonderful workshop that is timely.
