The Commissioner of Police, Edo State Police Command, CP Abutu Yaro, has directed Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and HODs within the Command to ensure that all SPY Number Plates currently in use in the state whether authorized or not, are confiscated with immediate effect.
The directive also states that, all authorisations are by the order revoked indefinitely.
The order is in compliance with the directive of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, regarding the unexemption of the ban on the use of Police Spy Vehicle Number plates by Vehicle owners across the federation.
The CP further directed that Police officers and officers of other security agencies attached to VIPs who use SPY Number Plates in the state should ensure compliance with the IGP’s order or face severe disciplinary actions or arrest for disobedience to lawful order.
In a press release signed by the Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Jennifer Iwegbu, the CP admonished the good people of Edo State to continue to partner with the State Command in this regard as this is aimed at strengthening the internal security in the state.
