Awoniyi’s Goal Shocks Liverpool

Super Eagles striker, Taiwo Awoniyi lone goal has helped Nottingham Forest climb out of the bottom of the Premier League table after a 1-0 victory against Liverpool.

The Nigeria international drove home the winning goal 10 minutes after the restart to help Forest secure victory over his former club.

The striker’s initial shot hit the post but he was fastest to react and put away the rebound.

The win was Steve Cooper’s first in the Premier League since August.

Awoniyi is now the first Nottingham Forest player to score in each of his first three Premier League starts at the City Ground.

The 25-year-old has also registered three goals in nine league appearances for Forest this season.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are yet to record an away win in the English top-flight this season.
