Historic Flamingos Lose To Columbia On Penalties

Nigeria’s female national under 17 team, Flamingos lost 5-6 on penalties to their Columbia counterparts in the semi final of the ongoing FIFA under 17 women world cup in India.

The Flamingos who qualified for the semi final of the competition for the first time ever were hoping to make it all the way to the final.

The highly tensed game which could not produce any goal in regulation time, went straight into penalties at the blast of the final whistle.

The Nigeria lads had the opportunity to wrap up the game during the shootout after Columbia lost their 3rd kick but Edafe Nigeria’s 5th kick.

The shootout went into sudden death and the Columbians proved to be the better side.

Nigeria will play the loser between Spain and Germany in the 3rd place match.
