Bendel Insurance football club of Benin have been crowned champions of the 2022 Nigeria National League (NNL) at the end of the just concluded Super 4 competition which took place at the Samson Siasia stadium in Yenogoa, Bayelsa State.
The Benin Arsenal sealed their position on top of the table after defeating hard-fighting Doma United of Gombe 2-1 in the last match on Saturday night.
Austin Ogunye put Insurance ahead in the 38th but Doma United rallied back in the second half to equalize in the 55th minute.
New signing, Ebenezer Odeyemi, made sure Insurance had the last say with his 75th minute strike.
Bendel Insurance emerged winner with 7 points, while Bayelsa United finished in the 2nd place. El-Kanemi Warriors came out 3rd with 4 points while Doma United finished at the bottom of the table with 3 points.
