Aduwawa Students’ unrest, no cause for alarm: Edo CP

The Commissioner of Police Edo State, CP Mohammed A. Dankwara, has assured the public, particularly parents and guardians of the children/wards of Aduwawa Secondary school, Edo State that there is no cause for alarm as the State Police has restored normalcy to Aduwawa Secondary School.

The CP’s assurance came against the backdrop of the unrest at Aduwawa Secondary School on Thursday, 24th November, 2022, that was perpetrated by some students of the school, who preliminary investigation reveals, were dissatisfied with disciplinary measures being taken by a female teacher in the school against some female students during an English language class.

Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Chidi Nwabuzor

In a press release signed and issued by Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, the CP stated that two female students identified as the prime suspects in the assault on the teacher and the eventual uproar in the school have been detained and efforts to arrest other fleeing suspects is ongoing.

He advised parents and guardians of fleeing students to submit their children/wards who were involved in the agitation.

Meanwhile, the CP has directed the Divisional Police Officer Aduwawa Division, to transfer the case file to the State Criminal Investigation Department Benin, after a preliminary investigation for further Investigation.
