Applicants for the (EdoSTAR) Teaching Fellows Programme in the Ovia North-east and the Ovia North-west local government area of Edo state have been engaged in CBT exam at the Edo State Polytechnic’s CBT Unit, Usen.
According to the Coordinator of the Edo State Polytechnic’s CBT assessment centre, Nosamudiana Izekor, the major purpose of the assessment is to recruit competent teachers who will fill up the spaces of teacher shortage in schools that are in remote and riverine areas.
He stated that EdoSTAR teaching Fellowship are recruiting base on Local Government residence, stressing that the programme is not politically motivated rather it is a right step by the Honourable Commissioner of Education to get the schools in rural areas revamped.
The recruitment which commenced with an online registration with the requirements of HND / Bsc certificates for the applicants is been accompanied with a CBT examination across the eighteen local governments in Edo state.
