The Department of Mass Communication, Edo State Polytechnic, Usen has presented awards of excellence to some of its outstanding staff and students for their contributions towards the development and growth of the department.
Addressing the awardees, the Dean of School of Business Studies, Dr. Stanley Edobor, called on the awardees to maintain their role model status to students and other staff in the polytechnic.
He stated that the feat attained by the department in recent time is attributed to the awardees’ commitment in pursing excellence and dare them to sustain the momentum.
In recognition of their excellent performances, Mr Uyi Akesuyi was honoured with an award of excellence as the most outstanding lecturer of the year; Mr Omobude Timothy, the most supportive lecturer of the year, while the Dean of General Studies, Mr Edobor Sunday was rewarded with an award of excellence as the most dedicated servicing lecturer in mass communication department.
In another category of award, Ekokifo Eseoghene Stephanie (ND 2) was recognised as the overall best student of the year; Aruwayo Sarah Iromidayo and Solomon Kuti Suleman as the most reliable and trustworthy students; Olababa Olatunde and Kuti Solomon Suleman, Leading content writers of the year; and Akunyemi Damilola Ruth as the most dedicated student of the year
