Nigeria Women Need To Build Capacity – Poly Lecturer

The director of centre of excellence in teaching and learning, Edo State Polytechnic, Usen, Dr Kess Asikhia, has called on Nigeria female youths to continually build and improve capacity if they want to remain relevant in the scheme of things nationally.

Asikhia made this declaration while responding to questions from our reporter during a visit to the newly commissioned digital newsroom of the department of Mass Communication of the institution.

According to him; young females should disabuse their minds from the mentality that they will eventually end up in a man’s house as this will only make them way remain second best.

Dr Kess Asikhia in a chat with espuvoice

“So many opportunities are out there for the young female folks but only a handful of them have explored these opportunities.

“”The young female Nigerians have given up on themselves and is regrettable to know that some of them are looking for who to pitch tents with, instead of being tent makers”.

He stressed that some of these young Nigeria females have this mentality that one day I will get married and the man will take care of me.

“The man cannot solve all your problems no matter how wealthy he is, even if does, where lies your respect?”

“I want to encourage them to build capacity, have the urge to work on themselves so that they don’t entirely become dependant” he added.
