Normalcy Returns To New Benin Market After Traders, Hausa Face-off

Normalcy has returned to the New Benin Market in Edo state after a clash between the Igbo and the Hausa traders over an alleged machete attack on a trader by an unidentified Hausa man yesterday.

The action which prompted retaliation from traders in the New Benin Market was brought under control by a combined effort of security agencies.

Information gathered revealed that irate traders at the New Benin Market staged a conformation with Hausa traders in the market after the injured trader was rumoured to have been killed.

Eyewitness told newsmen that repaid response by security men prevented the mob from taking laws into their hands.

However, commercial activities have regained stability in the market with heavy present of security agencies.
