Edo State Commissioner for Education, Mrs Joan Osa Oviawe has joined millions of Nigerians across the globe to celebrate His Excellency, Governor Godwin Obaseki for his well-deserved award as Vanguard best Governor of the year 2021.
The Commissioner, Mrs Joan Osa Oviawe in her felicitation message ascribed the mighty turnaround in education sector and subsector to the consistence support of his Excellency.
Joan stated that with the formation of “EdoBEST 2.0”, Pupils in ECCDE 3 and primary 1 in government schools have broken the bridge and dichotomy between public and private schools as they now read and write frequently through the investment of His Excellency in the State.
The commissioner also noted that over 3000 basic educational teachers have been employed and the recruitment for over 5000 teachers for secondary schools is currently on going, this achievement was aided by the formation of EdoSTAR (Edo Supporting Teachers To Achieve Result) on World Teachers Day 5th of Octobers, 20202.
The creation of EdoBEST 2.0 has also aided the transformation of education from Edo State to the world at large. The EdoBEST 2.0 with the five pillars; Governance, Environment and Values, Learning for skills, and Training innovation.
